In the last three months of 2024, 16.4 million such transactions worth 115.3 billion KGS were made through payment organizations, which is almost three times more than in the same period of 2023. Account replenishment became the most popular type of payment.
In total, 89.3 million payments worth 193.5 billion KGS were made in the fourth quarter of 2024. For comparison, a year earlier, there were 63.9 million payments worth 120.4 billion, an increase of about 40% in terms of number and 60% in terms of amount.
The number of transactions with electronic wallets exceeded 6.4 million, with a volume of 12.8 billion KGS. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, this is an increase of approximately 30%.
Payments for taxi services increased from 4.6 million to 6.6 million transactions, with a volume of 825 million to 1.29 billion KGS. Payments on social networks are also growing rapidly: the number of transactions increased almost sixfold, from 476,000 to 2.75 million, and the volume amounted to 1.4 billion KGS. This may be due to the development of digital services, integrated marketplaces, and online payments within the platforms themselves.
At the same time, there has been a decline in basic services. Mobile phone payments remained one of the most popular, with 15.8 million transactions, but this is less than a year ago (21.4 million). A similar trend can be seen for both internet and fixed-line communications. Despite this, the total volume of payments in these areas remained roughly the same.
Utility services maintained their stable position with 5.5 million transactions worth KGS 5.5 billion. Payments to the budget, including taxes, fines, and other contributions, amounted to about 570,000 transactions worth over KGS 343 million.
