China's Hunan Global may join rare earth metal projects in Kyrgyzstan

The Chinese company Hunan Global South Industry is considering the possibility of participating in geological exploration projects in Kyrgyzstan. These prospects were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and a group of investors led by the company’s representative, He Ruciu.

During the talks, the parties discussed opportunities for conducting geological exploration work within the republic, as well as the implementation of investment projects in the mining sector.

Representatives of Hunan Global South Industry expressed their readiness to invest in geological exploration, the introduction of modern technologies, infrastructure development, training of specialists, and the creation of new jobs.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the prospects for the development of minerals, polymetallic ores, and rare earth elements. It is precisely these areas that Adylbek Kasymaliev identified as priorities for attracting foreign investment.

Against the backdrop of growing global demand for rare earth metals, investor interest in geological exploration projects could open up new opportunities for developing deposits in Kyrgyzstan. Rare earth elements are strategic raw materials for the production of electronics, batteries, electric vehicles, renewable energy equipment, and other high-tech products.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue consultations with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, as well as the state-owned enterprise “Kyrgyzgeologia,” to explore possible formats for cooperation and prepare bilateral investment projects.
