09/10/2025, 15:42The Ministry of Energy announced the results of an international tender held for the Kambarata HPP-2 project. According to the ministry, the winner was China's Sinohydro.
The international tender for the project ‘Commissioning of the second hydroelectric unit of Kambarata HPP-2’ (Lot 3 — ‘Pressure pipeline and construction of the water conduit and hydroelectric power plant building’) was announced on 27 June 2024. In October of the same year, five companies submitted their bids in accordance with international procurement standards.
Following the review, Sinohydro Bureau 16— Sinohydro Joint Venture (PRC) was declared the winner. It offered the most favourable terms and demonstrated a high technical level of project implementation.
On 9 September, a contract agreement was signed with the winner.
