Jogorku Kenesh considered the draft law on amendments to the tax legislation

On November 25, 2024, the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy considered the bill “On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of taxation” in the first reading.

It provides for amendments to legal acts aimed at combating illegal trafficking of excisable products, illegal production of alcohol and alcohol, as well as non-payment of taxes.

During the discussion the deputies made a number of comments and suggestions. Kamila Talieva drew attention to mechanisms to strengthen the fight against illegal trafficking of excisable products, including increasing fines and tougher sanctions, specifying that it is important to create favorable conditions for business. Emil Toktoshev raised the issue of fines for late submission of tax reports, and Aibek Altynbekov outlined measures to combat smuggling and reduce the shadow economy. Sharapatkan Mazhitova raised the issue of VAT calculation mechanisms for the construction sector and the sale of medicines.

Deputies Aysarakan Abdibayeva and Sharapatkan Mazhitova proposed that the Committee to make a decision on the draft law on the results of parliamentary hearings. The Committee supported this proposal.
