09/20/2026, 10:22Kyrgyzstan and Russia intend to develop joint production in the agri-industrial sector rather than merely trading. In 2025, the mutual trade in agricultural and processed goods between the countries amounted to $652.3 million — $88.5 million more than the previous year.
This was discussed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, Erlist Akunbekov, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Patrushev, at a meeting in St Petersburg.
The parties discussed the establishment of joint processing enterprises, the development of logistics and warehousing infrastructure, the production of packaging in accordance with international standards, and cooperation in the fisheries sector. They also considered separately the possibility of increasing supplies of products manufactured in Kyrgyzstan to the Russian market.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to draw up joint roadmaps for projects in the fisheries sector.
The meeting took place as part of the 11th International Fisheries Forum. Kyrgyzstan’s national pavilion was also featured at the Seafood Expo Russia 2026 exhibition.
In 2024, the two-way trade in agricultural and processed products between Kyrgyzstan and Russia amounted to approximately $563.8 million. Over the course of the year, the figure increased by $88.5 million.
