Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland discussed the development of investment and economic cooperation

Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland intend to develop trade, economic and investment cooperation. Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev discussed these issues with Pierre-André Pajot, President of the Swiss National Council, on 22 October in Bishkek.

Kasymaliev emphasised that Switzerland is one of Kyrgyzstan’s key partners in Europe. To strengthen bilateral relations, he proposed focusing on developing investment opportunities and organising reciprocal visits by the leaders of the two countries.

The parties paid particular attention to the prospects for cooperation in the energy and agriculture sectors. Pierre-André Page expressed an interest in further developing cooperation in these areas.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to implement bilateral agreements and programmes aimed at improving the investment climate in Kyrgyzstan.

Pierre-André Page arrived in Bishkek accompanied by the brass band ‘La Landwehr de Fribourg’, which he conducts, to take part in cultural events.
