09/29/2026, 09:37In the first half of 2026, over 1.2 million foreign tourists visited Kyrgyzstan. This is 8 per cent more than in the same period of 2025.
The main sources of tourist arrivals were Russia, Kazakhstan and China. Tourism revenue for the first six months totalled around $150 million, an increase of 12 per cent compared with last year.
Tourists are most attracted to nature reserves, cultural sites and ski resorts. Infrastructure development, improved transport links and the promotion of Kyrgyzstan’s tourist attractions remain the key factors driving the sector’s continued growth.
