12/03/2024, 14:27During the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to South Korea, two Memoranda of Understanding focused on long-term cooperation in the field of energy and critical minerals were signed.
The first document enshrines cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea. It aims to create a solid foundation for further joint projects in the energy sector.
The second memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) and aims to jointly develop a master plan and conduct feasibility studies for ten new small hydropower projects as part of an international initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
