07/02/2026, 17:14MBANK has launched a service in its mobile app to refund money transfers sent in error. According to the bank, users will be able to initiate the refund process through the app without having to contact customer support.
The new feature allows the sender to request a refund from the recipient within 14 days of the transfer. To do this, select the relevant transaction in the payment history and use the “Request Refund” feature.
After receiving the notification, the recipient decides independently whether to approve the refund or reject the request. The bank emphasizes that funds are not automatically debited: “Money can only be refunded with the recipient’s consent.”
This feature is also available to recipients of erroneous transfers. If the money was received from an unknown sender, it can be returned through the app by selecting the transaction in the history and tapping the “Return Money” button.
A refund request remains valid for seven days from the date it is sent. All stages of the procedure are displayed in the transaction history, and both parties receive notifications about status changes.
The launch of this service is intended to simplify the resolution of situations involving erroneous transfers. Previously, to get a refund, users usually had to contact the recipient themselves or reach out to the bank. The new mechanism brings this process into a digital format.
