Bishkek City Hall intends to raise fares for cash fares

The Mayor's Office of Bishkek City notifies about the beginning of discussion of the draft legal regulation aimed at changing fares for public transportation in the capital city. The main purpose of the proposed regulation is to encourage people to use electronic fare payment, as well as to improve the economic condition of municipal road transport enterprises.

The project plans to increase the fare for cash payment, while maintaining more favorable conditions for those who use non-cash payments. This change should contribute to the transparency of incoming funds and reduce corruption risks.

In addition, it is proposed to introduce a fare that will allow passengers to transfer to other transportation within a certain time using one ticket, which will create additional convenience for residents and guests of the city.

The Mayor's Office invites all interested parties to participate in the discussion and submit their proposals on the project. Questions regarding the feasibility of regulation, risks and alternative solutions will be considered during public consultations.
