The city administration announced the start of demolition of more than 1,000 garages in the capital

The Bishkek City Hall has announced the launch of a large-scale campaign to dismantle more than 1,000 garages built on municipal land.

According to the Land Use Control Department, garage owners have been sent notices demanding that they voluntarily vacate the premises within five days. As of today, 701 garages on Repina-Kosmicheskaya Street are subject to demolition, 15 of which have already been voluntarily dismantled.

According to the city hall, the vacated plots are planned to be used for the construction of new kindergartens. This will improve social infrastructure and create additional opportunities for families with children.

In addition, the city hall commission decided to demolish 422 garages on Patrice Lumumba Street, 48. More than 10 garages have already been removed here, and a new green square will appear in their place.

The Bishkek City Council calls on garage owners to show understanding and cooperation, emphasizing that all actions are carried out within the framework of the law and are aimed at improving and developing the urban environment.
