02/05/2026, 11:15Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akzholov held a working meeting with representatives of the World Bank to discuss the implementation of joint projects.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current progress of initiatives aimed at ensuring the country's sustainable socio-economic development. The focus was on the projects ‘Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic’ and ‘Developing a Sustainable Financial Market for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises’.
‘Particular attention was paid to issues related to the promotion of the air quality improvement project, including the launch of a credit line for the introduction of clean heating technologies, cooperation with commercial banks, and public awareness activities’, — said Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akzholov.
Ministry representatives also reported on the current progress of the project and the planned funding volumes for 2026.
As part of the discussion on the project to develop a sustainable financial market for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, issues related to expanding entrepreneurs' access to finance and introducing modern financial instruments were considered.
World Bank representatives emphasised the importance of the projects being implemented to improve the quality of life of the population, strengthen environmental sustainability and develop entrepreneurship, and confirmed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further strengthening their partnership and continuing joint work on projects aimed at the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan.
