The Ministry of Finance has financed more than 5 thousand dairy farmers

The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan supported more than 5 thousand 90 farmers within the framework of additional financing of the Project “Integrated Dairy Sector Productivity Improvement”. The program was implemented under the component “Revolving Fund” with a total budget of $9.6 million provided by the World Bank.

The project started on April 13, 2023, after the official approval of the international organization. As of December 31, 2024, the financing amounted to 655.86 million KGS.

Financing was distributed among farmers in three oblasts - Issyk-Kul, Naryn and Talas. Naryn oblast residents received the most loans - 1,801 farmers. They were given 232.71 million KGS. In Talas oblast, the sum amounted to 216.8 million KGS, which was received by 1 thousand 687 people, another 206.35 million KGS went to Issyk-Kul oblast, where loans were taken by 1 thousand 602 farmers. The project allowed to create 840 groups of borrowers of milk producers, which promotes the development of cooperation and sustainable growth of the dairy sector.

It is important that farmers are not only actively financed under the project, whose budget has been fully utilized, but they are also responsible in using the money. According to the Ministry of Finance, the repayment rate under the project reaches 100%.
