09/20/2024, 13:22According to the EEC website, on September 19, Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Maxim Yermolovich met with Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in Communications (RCC) Alexei Borodin at the Eurasian Economic Union headquarters.
The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the prospects of reducing the cost of communication services in international roaming. Maxim Ermolovich noted that the Commission plans to introduce fair tariffs for roaming services in the countries of the Union in the first quarter of 2025.
“I am sure that by joint efforts we will achieve comfortable tariffs for the population of the Union countries, the size of which will be as close as possible to the home tariff,” he emphasized.
In addition, the parties discussed the perspectives of holding joint events and consultations in telecommunications. The signing of the plan of measures on interaction between the EEC and the RCC for 2024-2027 at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan will become one of the key events.
