The Minister of Economy called on major suppliers of socially significant goods to lower prices

On November 17, Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov held a meeting with the largest domestic suppliers of socially significant goods. Representatives of the tax service of all four districts of Bishkek also participated in the meeting.

The minister emphasized the need to review the pricing policy for a number of key goods on which social stability directly depends.

"We are actively working with chain hypermarkets and markets in the capital. We are already seeing understanding on their part and the first results in terms of price reductions. However, since we are talking about the entire supply chain, it is necessary to review pricing proposals comprehensively. This is being done in the interests of citizens. We are not asking them to operate at a loss — we are simply asking them to approach pricing sensibly,“ said Sydykov.

He also reported that the Antimonopoly Regulation Service has stepped up its monitoring of the market situation.

”In the last two days alone, more than 30 fines have been imposed," the minister noted.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, will continue to monitor price dynamics to ensure the stability of the consumer market and protect the interests of the population.
