The Minister of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic has imposed a self-imposed ban on credit

On 30 October, a conference was held in Bishkek, at which Azamat Zhamangulov presented a new digital development — the Self-imposed Ban on Credit mechanism.

Minister of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies Azamat Zhamangulov became the first citizen of Kyrgyzstan to impose a self-ban on obtaining loans through the Tunduk app. At the conference held on 30 October in Bishkek, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic showed how, in just a few minutes, you can set a ban on taking out loans in your name and protect yourself from financial fraud.

Open the Tunduk app, select the services section at the bottom, then self-ban on credit. A detailed explanation of how the programme works and who developed it will be displayed.
The mechanism works through the ISB (information security system) Ishenem and ISB Safe and Sound. Through one of these systems, the user submits an application to banks and credit institutions, which verify the data and process your request.

How to set up a ban through the Tunduk app:
1. Log in to the Tunduk app.
2. Select the Services section, then the item ‘Credit ban’.
3. Click the Submit application button.
4. Select one of the credit bureaus — KIB Ishenem or KIB Safe and Sound.
5. Check the data (TIN, full name, ban status, date of last change).
6. Click Enable — the ban will be activated immediately.

How to remove a self-imposed ban:
1. Log in to the Tunduk app — select the credit self-ban service.
2. Select the bureau through which the ban was imposed.
3. Click Remove self-ban.
4. The removal will take effect in 12 hours.

The self-ban on credit function was approved by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on 30 July 2025 and will come into effect on 1 November 2025. It was developed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies in conjunction with the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and is aimed at improving the financial security of citizens.
