Kyrgyzstan extends free driver's licence replacement until the end of 2026

The free replacement of valid driver's licences will continue until the end of 2026. This was announced by the head of the presidential administration, Kanybek Tumanbayev, during a meeting with citizens at the Vehicle Registration Centre in Osh.

According to him, car owners have enough time, but it is not worth delaying the procedure. He recommended that citizens replace their documents in advance, if possible, without postponing it until the last months of the year.

A mass campaign to exchange driving licences began in mid-January 2026. Under the current procedure, citizens can replace their licences free of charge and without providing a medical certificate.

After the deadline, existing driving licences will be declared invalid.
