10/05/2026, 20:14The international rating agency Moody’s has upgraded Kyrgyzstan’s sovereign credit rating from B3 to B2, maintaining a ‘stable’ outlook. The agency highlighted the country’s economic growth, the increase in GDP per capita and the strengthening of public finances.
The rating upgrade is also linked to a reduction in the government debt-to-GDP ratio, growth in infrastructure investment and the fiscal policy being pursued.
A higher sovereign rating could expand Kyrgyzstan’s opportunities to attract international financing. In particular, this applies to banks and companies, which will be able to utilise international credit ratings and instruments such as Eurobonds.
The investment bank Oppenheimer Europe acts as the Cabinet’s official adviser on international credit ratings.
