04/02/2026, 12:15Plans are underway to establish an industrial park on the site of the Mailu-Suu Electric Lamp Factory, which will bring together several industrial production facilities. This was announced by Iskender Asylkulov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce.
According to him, the site is being considered as a growth hub for launching new production projects and attracting investors.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan is gradually emerging as an alternative jurisdiction for businesses that previously focused on the Gulf countries. Under these conditions, the industrial park could become one of the tools for redirecting production flows to the region.
According to the deputy minister, the international agenda will provide an additional boost. In 2026, Kyrgyzstan will chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and an exhibition of industrial enterprises will be held in the country from June 4 to 6.
As Asylkulov emphasized, foreign participants are actively reserving exhibition spaces, which indicates growing interest in the country’s industrial potential. In this regard, he called on domestic businesses to participate more actively in the exhibition and promote their products in foreign markets.
According to him, a number of SCO countries are still not sufficiently aware of the capabilities of Kyrgyz enterprises, which opens up additional opportunities for exports and cooperation.
