08/12/2025, 17:35Since 2021, over 101.7 billion KGS has been allocated for the development of the transport and road sector in Kyrgyzstan. During this period, more than 3,048 kilometres of roads and artificial structures have been built, and 2,453 kilometres have been asphalted. The construction of a number of facilities that had been postponed for many years has been resumed.
Among the key projects is the 526-kilometre China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, 304 kilometres of which will run through the country. Almost 40% of the route will be tunnels and bridges.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the transport industry's profit amounted to 523.534 million KGS. In the first six months of 2025, the Kyrgyz Railway State Enterprise transported 4.958 million tonnes of cargo.
