Repair works related to the complete dismantling and restoration of structures under the Manas monument will start in the central square Ala-Too in Bishkek. It is expected that the work will start in mid-January 2025. This was announced by presidential spokesman Askat Alagozov.

This is being done due to the deteriorating condition of the base of the monument, which over time has begun to deteriorate, which poses a threat of its collapse. The execution of these works is critical to the preservation of the monument and safety in the square.

It is worth recalling that the reconstruction of the Historical Museum was carried out in 2018, within the framework of which 1.5 billion KGS was allocated from the state budget, as well as a $15 million grant from Turkey. However, waterproofing works on this site were performed poorly, which led to water penetration inside and damage to underground structures.
