Modern cable power lines have been laid in the Dordoi market

As part of the reforms of the Ministry of Energy, the capital is undergoing reconstruction and construction of new cable networks. More than 10 kilometres of modern cable lines have been laid, including in the Dordoi market area, where the load on the power grid is traditionally the highest.

The replacement of 10 kV lines is being carried out as part of the ‘Modernisation and Sustainable Development of the Electricity Sector’ project. Currently, new cables are being laid from the Karagachevaya substation to TP No. 1339, which will reduce technical losses, increase network capacity, and switch to a working voltage of 10 kV in accordance with modern energy efficiency standards.

The laying of new cable lines is particularly important in the Dordoi market area, where large retail and warehouse spaces requiring a stable power supply are concentrated.

The modernisation will significantly improve the reliability of power supply to businesses and the population in this sector. The reconstruction uses modern cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation, which are reliable and durable.

The project is funded by the International Development Association (IDA) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). It involves the reconstruction of 80 kilometres of 6/10 kV cable lines in Bishkek over a period of three years.
