A museum is planned to be built on the site of the Ak-Beshim settlement

An important meeting aimed at strengthening international scientific cooperation took place at the National History Museum. Museum director Zhyldyz Bakashova met with renowned Japanese archaeologist Shumpei Iwa, who has been conducting research in the Chui Valley for more than ten years, as well as with expert consultants Yuji Sakakibara and Masato Kamoda.

The working visit of the Japanese scientists is related to the initiative to build a museum on the territory of the medieval settlement of Ak-Beshim. During the visit, the guests familiarized themselves with Kyrgyzstan's experience in the field of museum affairs, the management system, and activities related to the storage of collections.

During the meeting, detailed information was presented on the following areas: the procedure for accepting historical and antique exhibits into museum collections; the mechanism of the state electronic cataloguing system; storage, conservation and digital accounting of museum collections; the organisation of research and exhibition activities; and the management of collections in accordance with international standards.

The meeting took place in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere. The parties emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in the field of museum construction and the preservation of archaeological heritage.

Museum director Zhyldyz Bakashova noted that the National History Museum is ready to continue expanding international scientific cooperation, supporting joint projects, and actively interacting with the global museum community.
