Today, December 24, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan will hold an auction to offer banks its short-term securities. These securities are valid for only 7 days.

By placing short-term securities, the National Bank plans to reduce the amount of free money in banks by 10 billion soms. The maximum income, which the regulator offers to banks on its securities is equal to the discount rate. At the moment it is 9%.

At the same time, a similar auction was held last week, December 17. Then the yield on securities was 3.43%.

It should be added that now the banks have much less free money than in spring. For example, on December 23, the volume of such funds amounted to 10 billion soms, while in March this amount reached a record for the year 84.1 billion soms.
