07/26/2026, 17:57Non-bank financial and credit organisations in Kyrgyzstan granted loans totalling 28.5 billion KGS in January–March 2026. This is 31.5% more than in the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The growth was mainly driven by an increase in consumer lending. Such loans accounted for around two-thirds of all lending, with the volume rising by 4.8 billion KGS.
The total loan portfolio of non-bank financial and credit institutions reached 70.8 billion KGS as at 1 April, having increased by 29.3% over the year.
Within the portfolio structure, consumer loans account for the largest share – 47.3 per cent. These are followed by agriculture – 16.4 per cent, trade – 13.9 per cent, and mortgages – 4.8 per cent.
The majority of loans are long-term — 70 per cent of the portfolio. 68.9 billion KGS, or 97.4 per cent of the total volume, is denominated in the national currency.
By region, Bishkek accounted for the largest share of loans – 33.5 per cent of the portfolio. This was followed by the Chui Region – 14.1 per cent, the Osh Region – 13.7 per cent and the Jalal-Abad Region – 12.2 per cent.
