NES Kyrgyzstan to raise $58.25 million for the construction of energy facilities in the Issyk-Kul region

NES Kyrgyzstan OJSC has approved the raising of loan funds for the implementation of an energy infrastructure project. The decision was taken on 22 April 2025 at a meeting of the company’s board of directors.

This involves a related-party transaction – securing a loan of $58.25 million from the Islamic Development Bank. The funds will be used to construct power transmission lines and substations.

The project involves the construction of the 220/110/10 kV ‘Karakol’ and 220/110/24 kV ‘Tamga’ substations, as well as the development of associated grid infrastructure. Its implementation will improve the reliability of the power supply in the region and create a reserve of capacity to meet growing demand.
