09/28/2026, 18:00In 2025, expenditure by civil society organisations in Kyrgyzstan totalled 19.8 billion KGS. This is 3 per cent more than in 2024 and 23.2 per cent higher than the figure for 2021.
The largest item of expenditure was sponsorship and charitable aid. Last year, 5.3 billion KGS, or 26.6 per cent of all funds spent, was allocated to this. A further 4 billion KGS, or 20.1 per cent, went towards wages and social security contributions. Organisations spent 2.1 billion KGS, or 10.6 per cent, on services.
In total, civil society organisations received 22.9 billion KGS over the year. The main sources were charitable funds, sponsorship and donations, accounting for 51.8 per cent of all income. At the same time, the volume of foreign aid and grants for the year fell by 4.9 billion KGS, which was one of the main reasons for the overall decline in funding.
