Compulsory motor third-party liability insurance: Kyrgyz citizens have received over 17 million soms in insurance payments since the beginning of the year

The State Insurance Organisation has announced the results of its work on compulsory motor third-party liability insurance since the beginning of 2025, as well as the positive dynamics following the introduction of fines on 1 July.

As of 28 July 2025, 266,465 vehicles were insured by the State Insurance Organisation (period from 1 January to 28 July). From 1 to 28 July, 38,345 new policies were issued. This figure confirms the growth of legal awareness among citizens.

Since the beginning of 2025, 190 insurance claims have been registered with the SSO under the MTPL insurance programme. The total amount of payments amounted to 17 million 335 thousand 499.98 som. The largest payment amounted to 300 thousand som. This amount was paid to two car owners who were injured in a traffic accident (150,000 som each).

The State Insurance Agency also recorded an insurance claim resulting in death. The relatives of the deceased were paid compensation in the amount of 300,000 som.
