Vegetable prices in Kyrgyzstan have doubled

Kyrgyzstan has seen a significant rise in vegetable prices compared with the base year of 2020.

According to the National Statistics Committee, carrots saw the sharpest price rise in 2025 — the price index stood at 221.3%, representing a 2.2-fold increase compared to 2020. Cabbage rose to 212.3% (2.1 times), and potatoes to 202.1% (2 times).

Beetroot also saw a significant price rise – 181.8% (1.8 times), onions – 186.4% (1.9 times), tomatoes – 173.5% (1.7 times) and cucumbers – 157.7% (1.6 times).

All figures reflect the cumulative price increase relative to 2020 (2020=100%), indicating a substantial rise in the cost of vegetable produce over the five-year period.
