Payments for public services are delayed due to an outdated treasury system

MP Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern about the weak digital infrastructure in the country in the context of the discussion of the new Digital Code. He said the government aims to digitise all interactions with citizens but faces problems due to a lack of servers and data centres.

Bekeshev said this causes delays in paying for public services, especially if payments are made through banks not being partners in the system.

"The outdated treasury system makes it difficult for payments to arrive on time, which can lead to delays of several days. The MP emphasised that without addressing these problems, the transition to a digital infrastructure could be jeopardised,’ he said.
