07/13/2026, 13:00Revenue to the Kyrgyz budget from gambling tax for January–May 2026 rose to 274 million KGS. This is 59.8% more than in the same period last year, when tax revenue stood at 171.5 million KGS.
Casinos accounted for the bulk of the revenue. In the first five months of 2026, tax revenue from casino gambling amounted to 261.1 million KGS, compared with 165 million KGS a year earlier. This represents an increase of around 58 per cent.
Revenue from slot machines and computer simulators also increased. Between January and May 2026, this amounted to 8.55 million KGS, compared with 2.28 million KGS a year earlier. Consequently, the figure rose by almost 3.8 times.
Tax revenue from online casinos and electronic (virtual) casinos rose from 701,800 KGS to 1.88 million KGS, an increase of almost 2.7 times.
At the same time, revenue from bookmakers and totalisators fell. In the first five months of 2026, they amounted to 2.5 million KGS, compared with 3.5 million KGS for the same period in 2025.
Consequently, casino operations remain the main source of growth in tax revenue from the gambling industry, accounting for over 95 per cent of all revenue from this type of tax.
