This is the first visit by a Kyrgyz leader to Malaysia at such a high level in 30 years. According to the Presidential Administration, the talks are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The current trade structure between the two countries adds a special significance to the visit. In the first four months of 2025, mutual trade amounted to $9.4 million. At the same time, exports from Kyrgyzstan significantly exceeded imports, mainly due to one item — gold. In April, Malaysia purchased $5.3 million worth of precious metals.
In addition to talks with the country's leadership, Sadyr Zhaparov will also hold meetings with representatives of Malaysia's legislative authorities and local businesses.
