08/04/2025, 10:19Kyrgyzstan has its first Digital Code, a document that should bring order to everything related to digital technologies. It was signed by President Sadyr Zhaparov. Parliament adopted the code on June 18, and it will now officially come into force in six months.
Why is it needed? In recent years, the digital sphere has been developing rapidly, and laws have not kept pace. The new code is designed to solve this problem. It establishes rules for the operation of digital services, the processing of personal data, and the development of artificial intelligence and telecommunications.
In addition, the document describes how the state will regulate the digital environment, what responsibilities digital platform owners have, and how companies should interact with each other. This should not only protect users but also simplify business operations, especially in the IT sector.
The development of the Digital Code is an important step towards building a modern digital economy. The authorities hope that such a legal framework will increase trust in technology and make Kyrgyzstan more attractive to investors.
