President has signed the Law on Determining the Origin of Goods

President Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a law on ratification of the Agreement on the Harmonised System for Determining the Origin of Goods Exported from the Customs Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The document was signed on 4 December 2023 in Moscow and approved by the Kyrgyz Parliament on 9 October 2024.

The agreement aims to unify the approaches of the EAEU countries in determining and confirming the origin of goods for export, which will create common standards and simplify interaction for exporters. It also provides for the development of electronic document flow and the introduction of the institute of authorised exporters, who will be able to declare the origin of products independently.

In addition, the Eurasian Economic Commission will be authorised to develop special rules that will be used to control exports that depend on the origin of goods, which will increase the transparency and efficiency of regulation within the EAEU.
