Kyrgyzstan's banking sector profits doubled in nine months

The banking sector strengthened its financial position in January–September this year. According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, banks showed significant growth in revenues and net profits, accounting for the bulk of the sector's financial results.

The banks' total revenues for the nine months reached 144.99 billion KGS. This is 46 billion KGS more than in the same period last year (98.74 billion). The growth amounted to about 46%. This was one of the most significant indicators in the financial industry.

The total expenses of banks in the reporting period increased to 86.4 billion KGS, compared to 68.96 billion KGS a year earlier. The growth rate of expenses remains moderate and significantly lags behind the dynamics of income, which made it possible to improve the financial result.

The net financial result of the banking sector amounted to 58.66 billion KGS, almost double the figure for January–September 2024 (29.74 billion KGS). Banks accounted for the lion's share of the financial sector's profits—more than 90% of the total result.
