Forced vehicle evacuation has become a business, says MP

Today, 19 June, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Beketov raised issues related to the forced evacuation of vehicles and their transfer to specialised parking lots.

The deputy stressed that the evacuation of vehicles has become a business, adding that many appeals and complaints from citizens have been received on this issue. According to him, employees of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic carry out the evacuation of vehicles even in cases where there is no obstruction to traffic.

«The cost of the tow truck service is 2,000 soms. Who set this rate? The Antimonopoly Regulation Service should look into this issue. In addition, vehicle drivers have to pay fines. Vehicles are damaged in various ways during towing. It is necessary to leave a fine that can be paid via QR code and cancel the towing of vehicles if there is no obstruction to the movement of other vehicles and pedestrians. Inspectors can leave their fines directly on the car. The fine can be increased to 600 soms», — suggested MP Dastan Bekeshev.
