Protein shakes made from Kyrgyz beans: nomads now make «buurchak azik»

At Kyrgyz Expo 2025, a product was presented that has no analogues in the world — protein shakes made from Kyrgyz beans. The idea was born from the desire to process the local harvest and create a healthy, completely natural product.

«We are Kyrgyz, nomads. In the past, we made gulazik with meat, and now we make buurchak azik from beans», — says one of the developers.

The technology was developed over 11 years. At first, the team made bean paste, similar to that produced in Japan and the United States. But the Kyrgyz inventors went further: they refused to use sugar and preservatives, achieving a natural taste and long shelf life.

«In Japan and America, the shelf life is extended by adding sugar, but we don't add anything extra. Just beans. No need to cook or fry — just add water and that's it», — explains the developer.

According to the creators, the cocktail is not only sweet and tasty, but also keeps you feeling full for a long time. The product is rich in vegetable protein, making it an excellent alternative to traditional protein mixes and an ideal choice for those who care about nutrition and health.
Incidentally, the product costs 400 soms and lasts for a week.
