A checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border may become round-the-clock

On 7 October, the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs approved in the second reading the draft law, concerning the mode of operation of checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

The bill provides for changing the mode of operation of the checkpoint ‘Karkyra-avtodorozhny’ from daytime to round-the-clock.

Changing the mode of operation of the checkpoint ‘Karkyra-avtodorozhny’ is due to the need to create favourable conditions for crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border and the development of winter tourism in the Issyk-Kul region, including increasing the flow of domestic and foreign tourists and improving infrastructure.
