11/12/2025, 17:40A meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of the State Programme for the Development of High-Altitude, Remote and Border Areas until 2030 was held under the leadership of First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seytov.
The event was organised in the context of the implementation of the State Programme for the Comprehensive Socio-Economic Development of Regions for 2025-2030, which defines the key directions for the spatial and territorial development of regions.
The development of high-altitude, hard-to-reach and border areas is of strategic importance for ensuring security, sustainable socio-economic growth and improving the quality of life of the population. These areas are characterised by specific natural and climatic conditions, limited transport and digital connectivity, weak infrastructure, a decline in the working-age population and low investment activity.
The programme aims to create conditions for the sustainable socio-economic development of vulnerable territories, improve the quality of life of the population and reduce territorial disparities.
The meeting discussed the draft structure of the state programme for the development of high-altitude, remote and border areas, as well as approaches to filling its content.
The implementation of the programme will strengthen the socio-economic stability of high-altitude and border regions; reduce migration flows by creating local jobs; increase access to basic services and improve living conditions for the population; and create new points of economic growth based on local resources and potential.
