The total project cost is KGS 40.1 million, of which more than half - KGS 22 million - will be provided by RKDF.
The RKDF Board Chairman Artem Novikov emphasised that the Fund has been implementing seven large projects in Batken oblast, including a gas concrete plant and a school in the village of Khalmion construction.
‘Today we are signing an agreement on a mini-hydropower plant construction. I hope that once it is completed and the first electricity flows into Kyrgyzstan's power grid, residents will forget about electricity shortages forever,’ he said.
According to the project documentation, once the Bazarbai Ata-Z mini-hydroelectric power plant is commissioned, annual electricity generation will be 5.2 million kWh. This will significantly improve the electricity supply to the population of the neighbouring villages of Markaz (8,200 people) and Sary-Altyn (1,500 people), and part of the Kadamjai district.
