The ruble is strengthening against the dollar but weakening against the euro

The ruble ended the week with a moderate strengthening against the US dollar. According to the official exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia on May 24, which is still valid today, the US dollar is valued at 79.71 rubles, and the euro at 90.52 rubles.

For comparison, the day before, the dollar was trading at 79.73 rubles, but weakened against the euro. Thus, the ruble strengthened against the dollar by 0.02 rubles and weakened against the euro by almost 0.32 rubles.

While at the beginning of the week, on May 20, the dollar exchange rate remained above 80 rubles (80.41 rubles), a gradual strengthening of the Russian currency began on May 21. By May 22, the dollar had fallen to 79.75 rubles, and by May 24, it had settled below 79.72.
