Sadyr Zhaparov commented on the duration of training at driving schools

President Sadyr Zhaparov, in an interview with the state agency Kabar, spoke about the duration of driver training and called on the public to be understanding about these changes.

The head of state noted that this reform is directly related to the state's most important asset — human life.

"We all see the statistics on traffic accident fatalities. The situation is alarming. Is it normal that a thousand people die every year? More people die in traffic accidents than in war. Some lose their children, some are left orphaned. There are cases where entire families are killed. About 10,000 people are injured every year, and half of them become disabled. We have no right to allow this to happen. The results of this reform will not be noticeable immediately. We will see the fruits in 50-60 years", — said the president.

He also apologized to the owners of private driving schools for their closure.
Regarding the duration of training, the head of state explained that international training standards had been taken into account. In many countries, training lasts at least one year. Our specialists have adapted the programs to 10 months.

"If possible, condense the program — for example, hold classes not three times a week for two hours, but five times for two hours, from Monday to Friday. In addition, it is now possible to study online — you don't have to go to school, you can study at home. We spend most of our time on the internet anyway. Is it really that difficult to set aside 2 hours a day for studying? 10 months will fly by quickly", — said Sadyr Zhaparov.

He also noted that if, in about six months, it turns out that the students are fully prepared and can pass the exam without any problems, then it will be possible to consider reducing the duration of the program.
