09/04/2025, 16:07The Audit Chamber has published the results of its audit of the compliance of the budget execution of the Ministry of Education and Science and its subordinate organisations for 2023.
During the audit, the financial activities of the ministry and its subordinate organisations, as well as the formation and execution of the budget, were analysed.
At the time of the audit, there were 89 higher education institutions (33 state and 56 private) in the education system, with 222,699 students enrolled. There are 100,728 students enrolled in secondary vocational education institutions and 31,455 students in vocational lyceums. There are 2,070 schools with 1,263,191 pupils and 94,683 teachers.
In 2023, the ministry's budget, taking into account the changes made, amounted to 67 million 724 thousand 502.3 soms, of which cash expenditures reached 61 million 821 thousand 556 soms.
The audit revealed total violations amounting to 723 million 554.6 thousand soms, of which 289 million 658.7 thousand soms are subject to recovery, 214 million 722.5 thousand soms were recovered during the audit, which is 74.13%.

Deficiencies in budget execution — 346 million 380.1 thousand soms
The preliminary results of the audit at Jalal-Abad State University were sent to the State Committee for National Security, and the results of the audit at the Talas City and Talas District Education Departments were sent to the Talas Region Prosecutor's Office.
In addition, it was proposed to send information on the identified financial violations related to rent and labour costs to the General Prosecutor's Office.
