Serbia lifted restrictions on imports of sunflower oil from the EAEU

Serbia has lifted quantitative restrictions on imports of sunflower oil and fat-containing products from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The decision was taken on the initiative of Minister Nenad Popovic in response to an appeal by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to EEC Trade Minister Andrei Slepnev, the issue has been discussed since April 2024, including at his meeting with Popovic in September. The lifting of restrictions emphasizes the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation.

Earlier, after the bans were introduced in March 2024, exports of sunflower oil and margarine from the EAEU to Serbia decreased by 40% in 10 months.
