Customs has detained a LEXUS imported under the guise of car parts

Officers of the anti-smuggling department of Jalal-Abad Customs revealed the fact of illegal import of a 2006-built LEXUS RX-400H car.

According to the agency's press service, the car arrived from Lithuania in parts and was registered in the customs declaration as second-hand car parts.

On the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the parts were assembled into a complete vehicle. To avoid paying customs duties, the car was registered in the Jalal-Abad Oblast Department of the State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers (GARTS) based on a forged technical passport from Belarus.

The damage caused to the state budget was more than 1.5 million KGS. The collected materials on the case were transferred to the prosecutor's office of the Jalal-Abad region for further proceedings.
