10/18/2024, 10:20Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev at the 13th meeting of Ministers of Economy and Trade of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) countries noted a significant growth of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Turkic countries. According to him, over the past few years, the trade volume has increased by almost 62 per cent, which is evidence of the positive dynamics of economic relations.
The minister paid special attention to the cooperation development with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. During the visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Azerbaijan, a cooperation programme for 2024-2029 was signed, which will open new opportunities for economic interaction and enhance the exchange of technology and innovation. A meeting of the Intergovernmental Council with Kazakhstan is expected shortly to discuss further joint projects.
"We see positive dynamics in trade and economic relations with our brotherly countries. However, it is important not to stop at what has been achieved, but to look for new ways to strengthen cooperation, including the development of infrastructure projects, such as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway,’ Daniyar Amangeldiev said.
The Minister also emphasised that further visits of the heads of state of Turkey and Turkmenistan will allow discussion of important issues of expanding economic partnership and implementing joint initiatives that will help strengthen brotherly ties between the countries.
