Food prices are rising faster than inflation

Since the beginning of 2025, food inflation has risen after several months of decline, while overall inflation remains relatively stable. According to the National Bank, food price growth in Kyrgyzstan has again outpaced overall inflation by 3.6 percentage points.

In the “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” category, where price increases exceed the overall consumer price index, inflation reached 13.1% in August this year. At the same time, the cost of non-food goods and services is changing moderately, without sharp jumps.

At the same time, the rate of price growth for alcoholic beverages, non-food goods, and services is declining, by 1.1 percentage points, 4.2 percentage points, and 2.7 percentage points, respectively.
