    Kyrgyz people speak English better than Kazakh people

    According to the EF English Proficiency Index, Kyrgyzstan ranks 88th out of 166 countries. The country's English proficiency level is considered "low", corresponding to a score of 457 points.

    Although this result is not the best, it is still higher than that of its neighbors. Kazakhstan is ranked 103rd and falls into the category of countries with a "very low level of language proficiency". Uzbekistan (98th place) and Tajikistan (109th place) are also in this category.

    Among the CIS countries, the best results were shown by Belarus (35th place) and Russia (44th place), which are in the group of countries with a "moderate level of English proficiency".

    The Netherlands has been the leader in English proficiency for several years in a row, scoring 636 points out of a possible 700. Other countries in the "very high proficiency" group include Norway (2nd place), Singapore (3rd place), and Sweden (4th place).

    The worst performing countries are Ivory Coast (114th), Somalia (114th) and Yemen (116th).
