According to the updated registry data, the official registration date of UZCARD is October 17 this year.
The system operator is JSC “Unified Republican Processing Center” located in Tashkent. Thus, UZCARD has become the ninth international payment system approved for operation in Kyrgyzstan.
Prior to this, the registry included such systems as Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, American Express, Mir, JCB, Zolotaya Korona, and HUMO, its “Uzbek neighbor” registered this spring.
UZCARD's official entry into the Kyrgyz market was a logical continuation of the deepening financial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Earlier, in July this year, both countries launched a new cross-border transfer mechanism — direct money transfers between Elkart and UZCARD cards.
The service has been operational since July 16 and has effectively formed a new financial bridge between the two countries. Transfers are made directly, without the involvement of international payment systems, with instant crediting and a commission of 0.5%.
