11/28/2024, 14:52Bishkek hosted the 12th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian intergovernmental commission dedicated to trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation in narrow and extended formats.
The meeting in narrow format was organized between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Sivak, where they discussed topical aspects of relations between the countries. Later, the meeting continued with the participation of the enlarged composition. The participants noted the importance of the commission for the promotion of bilateral cooperation and the realization of joint projects. The volume of trade turnover for 9 months of the current year reached $68 million. It was decided to increase it to $500 million in the next three years, strengthening cooperation of state bodies.
The restoration of direct flights between Minsk and Bishkek was also discussed. Industrial cooperation was named an important area of bilateral cooperation. Examples of successful projects were cited, such as the production of elevators by Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush and Mogilevliftmash, supply of radiators by Avtomash-Radiator, and work on waste recycling through the efforts of Sifania Ecotechnica and Tazalyk in Karakol.
To deepen industrial cooperation, it was decided to activate the working group established at the previous meeting of the commission. The main areas of cooperation include agriculture and agro-industrial sector. Attention was also paid to strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation and developing joint projects in education and health care. In conclusion, reports of representatives of state agencies on the implementation of the protocols of the previous meeting were heard and two documents were signed: the minutes of the 12th meeting and a memorandum of cooperation between Avtomash-Radiator and Gomselmash.
